Thanking God during times of trial

Praise the Lord!

My dear friends,

I attended the Prayers and Worship service last Wednesday and I have faith that the good Lord has answered my prayer and the prayers of my family.

My younger sister was expecting twins (baby boys) this year and her delivery was in December 2007. However, on the 7th of November (her 8th month), she had visited the doctor in order to submit her reports. The doctor had checked her and noticed that one child had already passed away inside her womb and he wanted her to be admitted at Durdans Hospital immediately as she had to undergo caesarian surgery. One baby boy was safe, but the other baby couldn’t make it. This incident was so heart breaking for all of us, as it was something we never expected. My sister never spoke about it to us.  My sister was very healthy, she went for regular check ups, and she showed no signs of any illness.

I went to Holy Rosary church next day with a very sad heart and as I sat down and prayed there were tears in my eyes. I know I never questioned the Lord as to why, but my heart felt very sad. The Blessed Sacrament was exposed that day and there was a table in front with the Holy Bible. The page was turned to Psalm 92 and these lines touched by heart “Oh Lord, how great are your works, your thoughts are very deep”.

I came for the service last Wednesday and as I prayed, I heard a word of knowledge saying “someone has lost a loved one, but the Lord says, do not worry, he is with me in Heaven”.  I claimed those words for myself and my family and I felt so happy and relieved. I thought to myself, yes, he is now a little angel living with God in paradise. As I returned home that day, I embraced my sister and gave her the good news as she began to cry. I know there are things happening in our lives that we do not understand, but I do know that God is in control and has a plan in each of our lives and that He knows the best, as we surrender our lives to Him.

Praise the Lord!
