About three years ago, I noticed some snow white patches on the back of my head – and also thick scales of dandruff around the area. This got worse and the dandruff was uncontrollable and the patches were rapidly increasing. I consulted a skin specialist who said I was suffering from Psoriasis – and told me that there was good news and bad; the good being that it was not contagious, and the bad news being that it is incurable!

The doctor instructed me to apply a coconut compound in the effected area – an over night application to be washed off the next day. The pungent smell of the medication was very depressing; nevertheless it had to be done. In spite of this medication, the scabs became thick and the area became snow white and was accompanied by layers of thick dandruff. This embarrassed me much and I gave up wearing dark colored blouses.

From the day I was diagnosed, I kept surrendering the ailment to the Lord. I kept on telling Him that He can cure me if He wanted to (in spite of the Doctors saying the decease is incurable). I trusted Him to bring the healing in His time and that I accept it with hope and all praise to Him, in the meantime. After about three years the disease spread towards my neck-line, and a burning sensation developed within this area. I reminded the Lord that I knew for sure that he would never put me to shame and continued to praise His Holy Name.

My hair-dresser told me about a skin specialist she had heard about and suggested that I should consult that doctor. Having this in mind and wanting to see her the very next day, I had a visit from a Priest friend of mine. He then told me of how a patient who was suffering from some skin disease – was anointed by him and that this person experienced a complete cured after the anointing.. I then thought of what I was going through and told him the entire story. He agreed that he should anoint me too with holy oil and did just that the next day. I felt that, that was the day of deliverance and the Lord was going to heal me – I said so to my Priest friend – and I made it a point to also see this new Doctor – because it is also God’s work to heal through medication. About three months into treatment I was COMPLETELY HEALED of the dry scab (dandruff) and the white patches and made whole by the Lord once again… and this after the Doctor said it was incurable!!

A month later, I fell sick again. Doctors performed a scan and a biopsy and told me that I had a “non conclusive cancer” and advised me to get my thyroid out. I consulted three other doctors and they confirmed the diagnosis. My experience with Psoriasis was still fresh in my mind with I experienced NO FEAR whatsoever. I surrendered the end result to the Lord at the very outset itself. My family, close friends, a Priest friend and also a very dear Pastor and his wife – stormed heaven as it were A week later on meeting the Surgeon, I was informed that the Pathologist has found nothing wrong with the result and would like to compare it with the original diagnosis of “ non conclusive cancer..” and why such a statement was made. The day I was to see the surgeon a young friend – wished me ‘ luck ‘ for normalcy – my prophetic reply was – “I don’t trust the Doctors BUT, I trust my Lord!!” I KNOW that we do not worship a God of confusion! Fellow Christians, there is NOTHING impossible with God – what He is asking us is our complete faith and trust.
